Dubbed as the Rome of the Far East, the walled city of Manila is the core of Hispanic Culture in the Philippines. This book is an album of what the walled city, now called Intramuros, used to look like – from churches, government offices to prominent addresses and establishments before the destruction of WWII.
Special feature of this book is the introduction by Nick Joaquin, National Artist for Literature. Authors of this book are Dr. Jaime Laya and Dr. Esperanza Gatbonton, authorities on the history of Manila.
