Kapamana, we have another heritage exploration bus tour coming up! Join us this Saturday July 2, 2022 as we explore the rich culture, local heritage, gastronomy and traditional arts and crafts of the historic town of Indang, a mountainous colonial town nestled in the heart of the Province of Cavite. Book author, designer, culinary historian and native Caviteño Ige Ramos will take us all on a delightful and enriching cultural and gastronomic experience, with mini-lectures on permaculture and food production that aims to heighten public awareness on sustainable and organic food production.

Tour Itinerary*


Saturday July 2, 2022, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm

Meeting Place: MET Live, EDSA Cor. Macapagal Ave. (Google Maps: https://g.page/MetLiveOfficial)

6:00 am – Assembly at the meeting place. Participants with private cars can park their vehicles for free at MET Live Basement. Take your breakfast before joining the tour.

6:45 am – Board the tour bus

7:00 am – Travel from meeting place to Indang via CAVITEX

8:20 am – Arrive at Indang’s baraka (public market). Meet and greet the public market administrators and vendors. Buy fresh local produce and a wide range of kakanin and kalamay buna from the baraka

9:30 am – Visit the Parish Church of San Gregorio Magno, Indang Town Plaza, Old Town Hall (repurposed as Indang Museum) and Tourism Office to buy pasalubong

10:30 am – Visit the Mahabang Kahoy Weaving Cooperative Farm and experience traditional weaving. Buy textiles from the weaving center.

11:30 am – Visit the Sanctuario Nature Farms. Listen to a talk on permaculture, and undergo introductory training on making compost, natural pesticides, and care of own organic produce. We harvest greens for salad, and partake on a sumptuous lunch of bugong and native black lechon de leche

2:30 pm – Visit the Cavite State University National Coffee Research Development and Extension Center. Sample Indang coffee and visit the food processing technology center facilitated by a food technologist, with lectures on coffee production. Buy different varieties of coffee.

4:00 pm – Travel back to MET Live via CAVITEX

5:00 pm – Arrive at MET Live, tour ends

What is included on the tour fee?

Tour fee includes tour bus transportation, meals and other fees.

Do GKI members get a discount?

Active and current GKI members will enjoy a 20% discount from the tour fees.

What should I need to bring for this tour?

This is an out-of-town tour in the town of Indang in Cavite, so please wear comfortable T-shirts, shorts and shoes. We also advise you to bring an umbrella, shades, fan, and a water jug for your hydration and comfort. Bring as well your own medicines for headache, motion sickness and for other ailments.

How do I get to MET Live by commuting?

From North EDSA, take a bus going to Roxas Boulevard. Get off at EDSA cor. Roxas Blvd. then walk straight along EDSA to MET Live Mall. You may also take the MRT from Monumento Station to Taft Station, then take the bus at EDSA Pasay Rotonda to Roxas Blvd.

Other options are to take Grab or Angkas. Just pin MET Live Mall as the destination.

Can I bring my car?

Yes, you can bring your own car, but you will need to park before taking the tour bus. You may park your car at the basement of MET Live Mall. There are also various parking areas around Macapagal Ave.

Do I have to bring extra money?

We advise you to bring extra money so you can buy some local produce from the public market, as well as souvenirs and traditional arts and crafts during the whole duration of the tour. We recommend that you bring your own eco-bag as well.

Do you issue official receipts?

Yes, we shall provide official receipts.

We come from a school/company/organization and we want to join as a group. Can we ask for an invitation letter from Grupo Kalinangan so we can request for approval and budget?

Yes! Please e-mail our Secretary, Mr. Miguel Alvaro Karaan (miguel.karaan@grupokalinangan.org) and indicate the following information on your request:

1.) Name(s) of the attending tour participant(s)
2.) Name of the person whom we should address the letter to
3.) Position of the person whom we should address the letter to
4.) Name of the institution/organization
5.) Mailing address and telephone number of the organization
6.) E-mail address of the person/organization where the letter is to be sent

You should expect a Letter of Invitation via e-mail within 48-72 hours.
