Join us this Saturday April 30th as we explore the rich culture and history of the City of Malabon! Known for its culinary treats and beautiful colonial architecture built from the 19th century, Malabon still stands out and proud as one of the relatively intact historic districts within Metro Manila. Architect and Malabon native Richard Tuason-Sanchez Bautista will tour us around the city for a whole day of exploration and delight.

 


Tour Itinerary*


Saturday April 30, 2022, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Meeting Place: San Bartolome Parish Church Grounds, Rizal Ave. Extension, Malabon

8:30 am – Registration and Assembly

9:00 am – Start of Tour at San Bartolome Parish Church, drive around Brgy. San Agustin and Brgy. Tañong to see old houses, the Rizal Monument by Guillermo Tolentino, and ruins of Casa Tribunal

10:30 am – Drive to Brgy. Tonsuya, Brgy. Niugan, Brgy. Tinajeros, Brgy. Muzon and Brgy. Dampalit

12:00 pm – Lunch at Le’ Cors Restaurant Bar and Grill, Brgy. Dampalit

1:30 pm – Drive to Hulo and Tanza, Navotas; view the Tanza tributary; walk around Hulo to see various old houses; visit the Methodist Church and the Blas House

2:00 pm – Visit Flores Chapel and Brgy. Baritan to see other various old houses

2:45 pm – Visit Concepcion Church, walk around Brgy. Concepcion to view various ancestral houses within the area

3:45 pm – Merienda at Onoy

4:30 pm – Go to the Aglipayan Church and view other old structures and buildings around the area

5:00 pm – Visit the Raymundo House, the oldest stone house in Malabon

5:30 pm – Tour ends; drive back to San Bartolome Parish Church

What is included on the tour fee?

Tour fee includes lunch, merienda, local transportation and other fees. Tour participants will be taken around the city via airconditioned vans.

Do GKI members get a discount?

Active and current GKI members will enjoy a 20% discount from the tour fees.

What should I need to bring for this tour?

Since this is a walking tour around various places within the City of Malabon, please wear comfortable T-shirts, shorts and shoes. We also advise to bring an umbrella, shades, fan, and a water jug for your hydration and comfort.

How do I get to San Bartolome Church by commuting?

Take the LRT 1 and get off at R. Papa Station. From there, take a jeep going to "GASAK RECTO". Drop off at San Bartolome Parish Church.

For those coming from the south of Manila, you may take the PITX Monumento bus that passes thru Roxas Blvd., then get off at Tañong or Fisher Mall. Take a jeep going to "GASAK RECTO" and drop off at San Bartolome Parish Church.

Can I bring my car?

Yes, you can bring your own car; however, we strongly advise you to join the tour group inside the vans. You may park your car at the patio area of San Bartolome Parish Church grounds.
