PAMANA TALKS – MARKING OUR HERITAGE: Sites of the First Circumnavigation of the World in the Philippines

Since 1933, The National Historical Commission of the Philippines has a long tradition of placing its very iconic markers in thousands of locations and sites around the Philippines. These historical markers commemorate the memories of people, places and events that helped shape the nation, and serve a great purpose to educate humanity about Philippine heritage, history and the undying Filipino spirit. This 2021, NHCP continues its mandate to mark important memories of the Philippines’ role in early globalization, as it marks and unveils thirty-four commemorative Quincentennial markers across the Visayas and Mindanao regions where the Magellan-Elcano voyage made contact with the natives: a herculean task, nonetheless, that the NHCP, in coordination with the other agencies, has taken to continue its mandate of promoting and upholding our Filipino heritage.

Joining us on our first Pamana Talks Webinar Series to celebrate National Heritage Month this 2021 is Ar. Reynaldo S. Lita, Secretariat of the National Quincentennial Committee, who will share to us very interesting stories of marking these 34 sites, and his insights into our understanding and viewing our history from a Filipino point of view.

This webinar is on Friday, May 7, 2021, 6:30pm-8:30pm, and shall be streamed via Facebook Live and on our official Grupo Kalinangan Youtube channel.

Registration to the webinar is free, and all registered participants shall receive a Certificate of Participation upon submission of the feedback form after the webinar. Limited seats only.

You may also make a donation to Grupo Kalinangan as part of your registration. Your donation will help us continue our drive and mission to promote and preserve our Philippine culture and heritage. We thank you for your continued support!
